Dr. Burak Erkayman, orta öğrenimini Erzurum Anadolu Lisesi’nde tamamladıktan sonra 2000 yılında Sakarya Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi Endüstri Mühendisliği Bölümüne girmiştir. 2004 yılında bu bölümden mezun olmasının ardından Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesinin Endüstri Mühendisliği Ana Bilim Dalı Sistem Mühendisliği programında yüksek lisans yapmıştır. 2005-2010 yılları arasında Devlet Hava Meydanları İşletmesi’nde çalışmıştır. Doktora öğrenimini 2013 yılında Sakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Endüstri Mühendisliği Ana Bilim Dalında Sayın Prof. Dr. Emin GÜNDOĞAR danışmanlığında "Havayollarında Uçuş Aksaklıkları Yönetimi için bir Çözüm Yaklaşımı ve Uygulaması" tezi ile tamamlamıştır. Aynı yıl, Atatürk Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi Endüstri Mühendisliği Bölümünde Yardımcı Doçent olarak çalışmaya başlamıştır. 2019 yılında Üniversiteler Arası Kurul’dan, Mühendislik Temel Alanı, Endüstri Mühendisliği Bilim Alanından Doçent unvanı almıştır. 2024-2025 yılları arasında Hollanda'da, University of Twente, Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems bölümünde misafir araştırmacı olarak çalışmıştır. 2024 temmuz ayından itibaren Profesör olarak çalışmaya devam etmektedir.
2013 yılından bu yana çeşitli kuruluşlarda Dijital Dönüşüm, Tedarik Zinciri ve İmalat Yönetim sistemlerinin tasarımı, ERP sistemlerinin geliştirilmesi, kurulumu, uyarlaması ve seçimi konularında birçok projede çalışmış ve danışmanlık yapmıştır. Dr. Burak Erkayman akademik hayatı boyunca çok sayıda Doktora ve Yüksek Lisans Tezi yönetmiş ve birçok projede yürütücü ve araştırmacı olarak görev almıştır. Gebze Organize Sanayi Bölgesi (GOSB) Teknopark ve Atatürk Üniversitesi Teknokent’te kurduğu şirketler vasıtasıyla sanayi kuruluşlarında Teknoloji ve İnovasyon Yönetimi, Dijital Dönüşüm ve Kurumsal Yönetim konularında çalışmıştır.
Sistem modelleme ve simülasyon alanındaki metodolojileri ilerletmeye odaklanırken, X as a service ve yapay zekanın üretim ve hizmet sistemlerine entegrasyonu gibi yenilikçi kavramları araştırmaktadır. Özel sektörde kapsamlı deneyime sahiptir. Akıllı üretim sistemleri, yapay zeka odaklı çözümler ve sürdürülebilir hizmet modelleri gibi alanlarda projelere liderlik etmekte ve uzman danışmanlık hizmeti sunmaktadır. Araştırmaları, akademi ve endüstri arasında köprü kurarak, sistem düşüncesi ve analizi yoluyla üretim ve hizmet sistemlerindeki zorlukları ele almaktadır. Politika geliştirmeye aktif olarak katkıda bulunmakta ve kurumların özel stratejiler aracılığıyla uzun vadeli çevresel ve operasyonel hedeflerine ulaşmasını sağlamaktadır. Ayrıca, kurumsal hedefleri sürdürülebilirlik ilkeleriyle uyumlu hale getirmeyi ve uzun vadeli çevresel ve sosyal faydaları garanti altına almayı amaçlayan politika yapım girişimlerinde aktif olarak yer almaktadır. Bu alanlarda yayınlanmış birçok makalesi, bildirisi ve kitap bölümü bulunmaktadır. System Dynamics Society (SDS) üyesidir.
Dr. Burak Erkayman completed his primary and secondary education in Erzurum before enrolling in Sakarya University’s Faculty of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering in 2000. After graduating in 2004, he pursued a master’s degree in Systems Engineering at Yıldız Technical University. From 2005 to 2010, he worked at the State Airports Authority. He completed his PhD at Sakarya University’s Institute of Science and Technology in 2013, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Emin Gündoğar, with a thesis titled "A Solution Approach and Implementation for Managing Flight Disruptions in Airlines." Dr. Erkayman was employed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Atatürk University. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2019 from the Inter-University Council in the field of Engineering, specializing in Industrial Engineering. He worked as a visiting researcher at University of Twente, Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems in the Netherlands. Since July 2024, he has been serving as a full Professor. Dr. Erkayman has been involved in various projects related to digital transformation, supply chain management, and manufacturing systems. His work includes designing ERP systems, as well as their development, implementation, adaptation, and selection. Throughout his academic career, he has supervised numerous doctoral and master’s theses and has participated as a lead researcher in various projects. He has worked on technology and innovation management, digital transformation, and corporate governance through companies he established at Gebze Organized Industrial Zone (GOSB) Technopark and
