FROM PHYSICAL MUSEUM SPACE TO DIGITAL EXHIBITION PLATFORM: A STUDY ON THE ATA ICE ART MUSEUM

In this study, the virtual redesign of the Ata Ice Works Museum and the digital transformation of the traditional museology approach are examined in depth. The museum was constructed in the virtual environment using 3D modeling technologies, considering the historical and geographical features of Erzurum. The study details how art has acquired a new dimension with digital tools. The project space was transformed into a digital platform combining Erzurum's natural and historical texture with art, enriched with ice sculptures and digital designs. While creating the digital model of the Ata Ice Works Museum with software such as SketchUp and Lumion, the physical properties of ice were successfully transferred to the digital environment, aiming for a harmonious integration between the architectural space and artworks. The digital installation works carried out at the Ata Ice Works Museum have combined the artistic potential of ice with digital technologies, resulting in innovative works that provide visual experiences to viewers. Furthermore, the panel presentations of the designs stand out as an important tool enabling broader audience access to the design projects. The digital modeling and visualization processes of the Ata Ice Works Museum present a concrete example of this aesthetic understanding and innovative techniques. As a result, while this article emphasizes the impact of digital technologies on art and architecture, it is seen that the virtual presence of the Ata Ice Works Museum contributes to the transportation of artistic works to different geographies in the digital environment, saving time and energy, and expanding access to art.
