The figure of Sureli in folk narratives of Tatar

Özet
Sureli is a forest demon which has an important role in folk narratives of Kazan Tatars. In this article, the etymology of the word sureli is questioned; its characteristics. and its comparison and contrast with other forest demons are examined.
