Özet

Nowadays, the largest group of species and number of species living, insects (hexapods), both

ecologically and economically effective in human and animal populations. Ecological planning has

become the subject of endemic, bio-indicator, intestinal flora of suitable insects suitable for agricultural

production or harmful insects, and recently focused on environmentally friendly planning. As the flora

is the most important bacteria of the insect microbiota. These microorganisms play a positive or negative role in maintaining vital activities for insects. In our study, a sample of the insect species of

Enochrus quadripunctatus (Herbst, 1797) (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) was collected live from aquatic

environments and treated with 70% ethyl alcohol for 5 minutes to remove possible contaminant

microorganisms on the sample. The alcohol was then washed with sterile distilled water. After surface

sterilization, insects were knocked out with ether and the digestive tract was separated in a standard

aseptic conditions by dissection. Strains were made for identification of bacteria without waiting from

the separated intestinal sample. The bacteria were then identified on the by VITEK 2 (bioMérieux). On

the of the study, gram negative stained microorganisms were identified with VITEC2 Aeromonas

veroni, A. hydrophila / caviae and Pseudomonas aeroginosa. Pseudomonas auroginosa was found to

be pigment-free. In our study, two separate bacteria could not be identified with VITEK 2 device. With

this study, it is expected that aquatic microbiota will contribute to biotechnological research and

biological control methods in terms of agricultural and environmental research. For this reason,

hexapod species selected as an example in the study were examined from aquatic environments. Our

research is a preliminary study and more samples and advanced techniques are needed to determine

the microbiota of this insect group. We think that our study is guiding for such studies to be conducted

later
