Özet

In this study, Turkey's Agricultural Economics higher eucation was assessed with SWOT analysis with respect to the developments in the world and the suggestions in line with the results were presented. According to the results, prevailing economic problems in agriculture and diversity in employment of graduates are the most important strengths, while inability to follow recent international developments and lack of implementation/methodological skills are the most important weaknesses. High demand for Agricultural Economics higher education compare to other programs in agriculture and placing students with the score of equal weight are the most important opportunities. Low demand to agricultural higher education and inadequate training in newly opened universities were found to be the most important threats. It is necessary to emphasize strengths to improve weaknesses, to evaluate opportunities and to eliminate threats determined in Agricultural Economics higher education.
