Özet

In recent years, food wastes have been widely used to remove dye from wastewater.

In this study, the waste of tea, which is consumed excessively in our country, was

used as an adsorbent. In the aqueous, the adsorption of methylene blue (MB) onto

brewed tea waste (BTW) was investigated. The obtained data were applied to four

different isotherm models (Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, and D-R) and two

different kinetic models (pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order). It was

determined that the results fit Langmuir as the isotherm model and the pseudosecond-

order equation as the kinetic model. Langmuir qmax value was determined as

47.6 ppm and pseudo-second-order qtheoretical value was determined as 54.5 ppm. It

was determined that the MB removal efficiency of 50 ppm methylene blue solution

of brewed tea waste is 94% in 120 minutes. It is thought that the obtained results

contribute to the removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutions in the industry.
