Vallecular Cyst Presenting with Neonatal Airway Obstruction

Vallecular cysts are important in newborns and infants because their small airway means even minor cysts can cause significant obstruction. Delayed diagnosis and treatment can result in increased morbidity, including early neurological impairment, growth retardation, and potentially even neonatal mortality. Therefore, early recognition of vallecular cysts, accurate assessment by radiological methods, and timely surgical intervention are of critical importance.
