THERMAL SPRING SELECTION WITH TOPSIS AND MOORA METHODS: CASE OF ERZURUM PROVINCE

Turkey's geographical position can be deemed as quite rich in terms of thermal resources. These resources, which are located in several regions of our world, have been utilized in the tourism and health sectors. Due to the vast number of thermal springs, it can be difficult for individuals wishing to benefit from these facilities to make a decision. For this purpose, it was essential to submit a proposal for a preference ranking procedure based on multiple criteria during the decision-making process. This study aimed to determine the thermal springs in the province of Erzurum as per the requirements, including the price, the distance to the airport, the distance to the city center, and the thermal baths' temperature. Six thermal springs in the city were analyzed using TOPSIS, MOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization Method by Ratio Analysis), and Reference Point Approach of MOORA methods based on the relevant criteria. Borda approach results in which all alternatives are discussed, Pasinler thermal spring was ranked first. These results lead us to conclude that relevant thermal spring can be the most suitable thermal spring option that meet the criteria.
